Faction Game Rules
A downloadable hack
I set these rules up for a Blades in the Dark game I ran back in 2017 with 2 crew-level games (played on Roll20) and 1 faction-level game (played via direct messages and tracked on Roll20) in a shared setting. The only changes from the original setup is some clarification on terms and increasing from 2 to 3 actions per turn. Two actions worked alright and mirrored the downtime actions, but in retrospect it made the faction impacts a bit slow compared to the dynamism of the crew games.
These rules were designed for a faction-level game for players in between sessions of regular Blades in the Dark. Each player would take control of a faction and choose what that faction did to achieve their goals in between crew-level session, which would also then impact the world of the crew-level game(s). The faction-level game players could be the same or different players than the crew-level game(s).
