PRISM Arcologies
A downloadable card game prototype
Credits & Acknowledgements:
This game is based on and was envisioned as a sequel game to Rise to Power, designed by Allen Chang and Alannah Kearney, published by Rule & Make in 2014.
Game Summary:
This is a city-building card game where you compete to build the best Arcology you can for your companies using Prefabricated Reconfigurable Integrated Structural Modules (aka PRISM) to build Districts and Upgrades.
Use your Action Points wisely to collect PRISM cards and Contract cards.
Contract cards are multi-use cards that can either be built into Districts which score you points and unlock additional Action Points, or powerful Upgrades which improve your action efficiency and unlock bonus scoring abilities. Plan carefully how you build your Districts and Contracts as they will score points depending on their location and other bonuses.
Contracts can also be put onto the Exchange to trigger powerful effects. However, be aware that other players can then take cards out of the Exchange for cheap points.
If you pay the exact PRISM cost when building Districts or Upgrades, your efficiency will please your superiors and you can then refresh your HQ which gives you free bonus actions, so try to be as efficient as you can with your PRISM.
When a player has either built nine Districts or exhausted the Contracts deck, the game ends and the player with the best arcology wins!
Instructions:
Print out all the Board files onto A4 paper and cut out the Player Boards.
Print out all the Card files onto A4 paper and cut them out. Either stick the matching sides of the Contract and District cards together, or slide them into a clear card sleeve with a backing card in between.
Do the same with the double-sided Starting Districts.
HQ and PRISM cards can either be printed out and used as is or slide them into a card sleeve with a backing card behind them.
Alternatively, for the double-sided cards, you could try to print them double-sided onto thicker paper/card instead.
You will need 32 small cubes to act as Player Board markers (alternatively 20 small cubes, 4 for each player and a common pool of 4 to act as Action Point trackers)
You will need about 20-30 medium cubes or other suitable markers to act as Pylons.
You will also need something to act as a Starting Player marker.
